Aims for 2009
Following are the association’s goals for 2009. You are very welcome to contribute to the list below by completing the suggestion form.
General
- Give Muslim students a platform for their voices to be heard.
- Increase the level of unity amongst Muslim students, regardless of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Welcome new Muslim Students at the university and facilitate their interaction with other Muslim Students through various activities /programs.
- Increase Muslim student’s participation in all events hosted by the MSA.
- Keep up with current facilities.
- Organise events in response to current situations that arise.
- Liaise with academic and administrative elements of the university as necessary to enhance the support for services required by Muslim Students.
Specific
- Brisbane MSA Forum – with 3/4 speakers & Q+A opportunity during Islamic Awareness week in Semester 2, 2008
- Soccer Matches with UQ and QUT Msa’s
- Visit other campuses at least once a semester and follow up with the requirements that come to light from the visits.
- Outdoor event for sister (eg: bushwalking or something similar)
- Msa Web Group / Email List
- Liaise with Video and Audio Services regarding the recording of lectures where there is a timetable clash with Jummah/Taraweeh Salaah
