The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of GUMSA will be held on Friday 28th October in MFC at 1:45 pm after Friday Prayer insh-Allah. All financial members* of GUMSA are invited to participate in sending nominations – for themselves or others – in person on the day of AGM or sending them to this email address, until the AGM, and vote for the new Committee.

Griffith University Muslim Students Association (GUMSA) has its way to remember 9/11. GUMSA remembers 9/11 by reading and encourging people to read the following books:

• 9/11 and American Empire: Intellectuals Speak Out, Vol. 1
• 9/11 & American Empire: Christians, Jews, and Muslims Speak Out Vol. 2

The above books translated into several languages. In case you do not like reading books, you can watch a video on YouTube called 911 Loose Change.

Eid will be tomorrow Wednesday 31 Aug

Alhamdullah the moon has been sighted in Newcastle as announced by the Council of Imams Queensland. Eid Salat will be held tomorrow Wednesday 31 Aug at

• Darra Mosque and
• Islamic College of Brisbane (45 Acacia Road?Karawatha QLD 4117). In case of rain, Eid Salat will not be held at Islamic College of Brisbane, but will be at Holand Park Mosque and Kuraby Mosque.

May Allah accept our good deeds in Ramadan and Eid Mubarak to you.

With cooperation with Sunnah Inspirations, AMYN, MSA-UQ and MSA-QUT, GUMSA is collecting Zakat ul-Fitr money. It is $4 per person. The collected amount of Zakat-ul-Fitr money for the three MSAs will be sent to feed the poor people of Africa and Indonesia.

Please be informed that Iftar/Dinner is provided every night. In the Iftar/dinner schedule still some days not covered, however if no group sponsor providing dinner in these nights, GUMSA will provide it. For those wish to participate donating to provide dinned, please put your donations in the donation box at Nathan prayer room.
